
Allison Franks ARB
Allison’s personal property development projects led her to study Architecture with the University for the Creative Arts University in Canterbury, achieving a First-Class Honours Degree and qualify as an Architect.
Competence in rural home design in designated areas including Green Belt, Conservation and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) as well as of agricultural buildings conversions to dwelling houses was gained with previous employ, specialising in NPPF Paragraph 79 planning policy (now Para’ 84), often requiring collaboration and co-ordination with Planning Consultants, Arboriculturists, Environmentalists, Archaeologists and Landscape Architects amongst others, to form Design Review Panel assessments toward planning approval.
Allison brings commercial sector competencies to the practice, having been Project Lead in many Government Property Agency projects, building strong relationships with clients and contractors, from planning to handover, ensuring delivery of projects through co-ordination of the design team.
Combining the commercial sector with heritage, Allison collaborates with property developers to form apartments or homes of multiple occupancy (HMO’s) often within heritage buildings, toward Listed Building Consent and compliance with Building Regulations for sympathetic interventions, sustainable heating systems and thermal, fire break and acoustic upgrades.
